Ruth Victoria Rose, 103 years of age, of North Brunswick, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday evening October 2, 2024, at Brighton Gardens of Edison in Edison.
Born on the family farm on Ridge Road, Monmouth Junction, NJ, she resided there before moving to North Brunswick 33 years ago. Ruth was an avid painter, quilter, knitter, world traveler and loved to make arts and crafts. No holiday was complete without Mom’s homemade ornaments or decorations. She was a founding member and president of the South Brunswick Women’s Club, and a lifetime member of The Kingston Presbyterian Church.
Predeceased by her parents, Fred A. and Phebe (Messler) Stout and her husband, Carlton W. Rose, Jr.; she is survived by her daughter, Sandra Friedman of North Brunswick; her son, Carlton “Bud” W. Rose III and Patricia Rose of South Amboy; and her son, Douglas Rose and partner, Rodman T. Middleton, of Jersey City. Ruth is also survived by her grandchildren, Christopher William Rose and Christy Rose, Shaun Michael Rose and Theresa Rose and Catherine Marie Rose; as well as her great-grandchildren, Cooper Wallace Rose, Hudson Leary Rose and Raegan Avery Rose.
Funeral services will begin on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at A.S. Cole Son & Company, 22 North Main St., Cranbury, NJ.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at A.S. Cole Son & Co.
Interment will follow at Kingston Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Kingston, NJ.
